In 2011, recently married, Jen and I packed 6 suitcases, her 7th-month pregnant belly and our 2 rescue dogs, and moved to the Dominican Republic to start our life abroad. Fast forward 12 years (a new country, a few more than 6 suitcases, 2 kids, and 2 new rescue dogs) and we haven’t looked back. We are an international school family through and through!
The Family
Jen – the glitter and glue of the family, she gets joy from building community and making people feel welcomed. She is a copywriter and project manager for a digital media company. She also produces kick-butt lip-synch videos!
Rafaella – an avid reader, basketball player, and movie watcher. She loves listening to music and can be heard memorizing the lyrics to all of her favorite songs.
Santiago – a run-til-you-drop kind of kid, who can be found on the soccer field, basketball court, or making a new friend on the playground. He loves the NFL and making people laugh!
Our Roots
We are a family Made of Root and Vine. Jen, of Cuban roots, and I are both from New Jersey. Where it all started for us. Our kids, were born in the Dominican Republic and have called Mexico home for the last 6 years. We love the struggle and joy that international teaching has given us. We look forward to where we will call home next.
